Christies - The Ian Turner Collection of Monart Glass

This is the auction catalogue for one of the largest and most important collections of Monart glass sold by Christies of South Kensington, London in 2003. The Ian Turner Collection of Monart Glass saw a fascinating and stunning collection of Monart brought together for sale on behalf of one the foremost experts and collectors of this glass.

Ian Turner started collecting Monart glass with his first piece over 25 years ago. His curiosity of the factory and it's history got the better of him. He embarked on a remarkable quest of researching and collecting all there was to know about Monart. From meeting Paul Ysart, other researchers, museum experts, collectors and ex-workers he amassed a wealth of knowledge. He has contributed to articles on Ysart and Monart glass and is a co-author of the book "Ysart Glass". Eventually it seems there nothing more to collect and Ian Turner decided to sell of his collection and concentrate on something else!

The auction had 142 lots of Monart vases, bowls, paperweights and ephemera. The catalogue has many colour photographs which are invaluable to the collector. Included in the sale were unique pieces bought from Paul Ysart's own collection.

The catalogue contains 26 pages and is in very good condition with only minor wear.
